Newnham Solar Community Fund
Working Towards a Brighter Future
Who We Are
Newnham Solar Community Fund is driven by a single goal; to do our part in making our community a better place for all. Our Directors are all unpaid volunteers giving their time freely to help support our community to be more productive and beneficial to all those that live and work within it.
We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.
What We Can Fund
We are prepared and expect our funding to adapt to the communities needs over time, but we have to start with a set of guidelines. These are explained more on the documents and forms page.
1. Grants are available for projects costing over £250 and typically up to maximum of £5,000, that have environmental and/or social benefits to the residents of Shaugh Prior and Sparkwell parishes. Constituted community groups and charities that fulfil the criteria detailed in our guidance notes can apply and we are happy to discuss ideas with you. Applications can be made at any time and we can fund up to 100% of the project costs.
2. Smaller grants for projects and initiatives costing up to £250 can be awarded to newly formed groups that can't fulfil the criteria of an established group as described above. New groups should get the support of either an established group (Village Hall, Club etc) or a local Parish Councillor to act as sponsor & support your project. Please contact us and we will try to put you in contact with someone who can help you to develop your idea.
3. Hardship payments of up to £100 are available to support residents living in Shaugh Prior and Sparkwell in cases of need. A third party e.g. Parish Councillor, health or social worker, should make the request on the residents behalf. We have tried to keep the application form and requirements for this as light as we can and are receptive to a wide range of proposals.
